This week we are featuring AMETRINE. Learn all about it HERE.
A rare combination of Amethyst and Citrine, Ametrine is a very unusual gemstone. It produces when Amethyst and Citrine both resides in a single stone’s body. Ametrine is generally shaded in the hues of purple and yellow or orange. The zones of both the colors are so differently fond in the stone that no Ametrine matches with the other.
According to the legends, Ametrine first came into limelight when a conquistador in Europe gifted Ametrine to the Queen of Spain. The conquistador himself got the entire Ametrine mine, in Bolivia, as a dowry after he married a princess from the native Ayoreos tribe.
